With Social Media becoming a huge aspect of Marketing in the world today, Marketers need the best strategy to get the best result. As talked about in my intro to Marketing class and my Product Innovation and design class, they have a specific plan that they use to get the best result for their product or service.
In the book we are reading in Intro to Social Media, they talk about the campaign plan of AIDA. AIDA stands for attention, Interest, desire, and action. This help marketers drive motion to a product and to help drive promotion as well. This strategy allows for the consumer to be aware of a product or service and grab their attention. By making the marketing part of the campaign well and fun, this allows people to be aware of the product.
The next step to the strategy is Interest. With interest, this allows consumers to read more, because the promotion of the product was interesting to them. This allows more traffic which is good for a new product or service. With more traffic the more people are interest in your product and the more people want to maybe purchase your product.
The next step in this strategic plan is desire. Since the consumers attention is already towards the product, the next step is for the consumer to want to buy your product. With the consumer looking at your product and interested in knowing more, the more likely the consumer is to buy the product to test it out.
After the consumer has gone through the 3rd step of wanting to purchase the item. The next step is then for the consumer to actually purchase the item or service. This is the consumer taking action and buying into the product. This is what the ultimate end goal is for marketers.
Marketing is a hard field to be in, especially with the world changing and social media becoming a big way to promote businesses and products. With a strategic plan in place this makes the marketing campaigning easier for marketers to put in place.
