It's crazy to think how far I have come and how old I am right now. I only have a year and a half left of college and I'll have to start being and adult. But that's not even the craziest part of my life right now. My sister, Madison, and husband Brian are twenty-six and twenty-seven and are about to have a baby girl.
It is crazy that my older sister who would always look out for me is starting a family of her own. And now her little girl is going to have to look after another baby in the future. When my sister told all of us, she was expecting I was in complete shock. I didn't think it was real. She would be a mother and it wasn't too long ago that she was in my position in college.
The gender reveal party form my sister was in the summer and I was the lucky and only one who knew what the gender was. When I got the envelope what the paper in it says what the baby's gender was going to be, I was so nervous. I even took a little video of me opening the envelope so my sister could see my reaction. I predicted that it was going to be a girl, only because people say that if a woman has bad morning sickness it will be a girl. I'm not sure if that's always true, but in this case it was.For the gender reveal, I bought confetti shooters that shot out pink confetti in the air so everyone could see what the gender was going to be. Everyone had so much fun, and it was so fun to trick people into thinking it was a boy when they asked what it was.
In the beginning of the pregnancy, my sister picked out girl names with her husband and she told me the names since I kept the big secret of the gender. But I gave in and told my mom the two names they picked out and my mom slipped up and told my sister she knew. Now, my sister keeps teasing me on guessing the name because they have another contester I guess for the baby's name. I should have never told anyone.
But I can't wait to meet my niece when she comes! I know my sister is going to be an amazing mom! I'm hoping the baby comes on Christmas or New Year's, but I don't think my sister likes that idea very much. Anyways, I plan on seeing her the 6th of January but hopefully sooner!
Until Next Time,
Lauren
Congratulations! That's so awesome for your family. None of my siblings are married so I won't be expecting any nieces or nephews anytime soon, but I love babies. I only have one younger cousin now before there's no more babies, so I wish someone would have a baby LOL. I agree with your sister, sharing a birthday on a holiday like Christmas or New Year's is not my cup of tea.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you and your family! You're going to be an aunt, that is so exciting. I know that it must seem overwhelming that life keeps changing, but I bet this baby girl is going to be so lucky to have you in her life. I wish your sister and the rest of your family the best during this life-changing time!
ReplyDeleteLauren, I'm totally with you when it comes to the whole feeling like time is flying by aspect. Even though it's crazy to think about how much has changed, it is super exciting to get to experience life's new adventures. Such as you becoming an aunt! That's exciting news, congrats to you and the rest of your family on the new addition to the family!
ReplyDeleteLauren, congrats for you and your family! All of my sibling are younger than me so I won't be an aunt anytime soon but being around babies is so enjoyable. I completely understand what your sister is saying about sharing a birthday with a holiday. For the child, that might be hard and I do not think I would enjoy it.
ReplyDeletelauren! I'm so happy your sister is having a baby and you had the chance to be there for the whole thing. I agree with you though, thinking of your older sister have a child is crazy to me. My sister is four years older than me and I can't imagine her starting a new family and taking care of her own kids instead of me. When the day comes, however, I know I will be beyond happy for her! Congrats again on being an aunt! I know you'll have the happiest memories with your sister's baby girl!
