This past weekend was such an eventful and amazing weekend for everyone at ONU. Everyone comes together to take part in some many fun events and I was so happy I got to be a part of a lot of them! To start off the fun weekend, the softball team and I got babysit the little kids of some inductees for the ONU hall of fame! It was so cool because it was a little different from the teams normal activities and we had the honor of knowing one of the inductees, a past softball and sister of our current coach!
During the game I met 3 little small friends. I had a couple of kids come up to me and they explained how fun there day was with Klondike and how they got so many prizes and a picture with Klondike! It was a fun little surprises to meet some new friends on such a fun day!
After Friday, my team and I started off the day getting together with the alum from the past and very successful softball teams. It was so exciting because I knew some of the players and we got to reconnect and hangout with them with a friendly, 7 inning game of softball a game we all love. I also got to meet other Alum and it was so cool just to all get together to play a game we all love! I had the amazing opportunity to share the live alum vs. the current players on twitter!
After getting dirty with all the fellow softball athletes, we grubbed out on some delicious food from Padrones. My favorite pizza place here in Ada! I also got to see my mom and Nana who I haven't seen in a month, it was so fun and I missed them so much! After getting full and having a food coma, my roommates and I got to go to the football game and see fellow classmates and friends play!
The football game was so fun to watch because it was an amazing game! The game was hand and hand the whole time and everyone just had so much spirit and energy and there was so many people that attended the game!
Homecoming weekend was packed with so many fun events and great people. I got to catch up with old teammates and make new memories with the friends I have now! Homecoming weekend is such a fun weekend because

Your weekend sounds awesome! I bet it was great being able to just reconnect with all the alumni. This weekend really had something for everyone so it doesn't surprise me that you met some little kiddos along the way. ONU really knows how to throw a Homecoming!
ReplyDeleteHey Lauren, i liked the blog this week. Ive been trying to catch a softball game ever since i came to ONU, so i should definitely come check out your guy's team. This was my first official Homecoming ever since i got sent home for covid last year and Homecoming last fall wasn't as fun as it was this year due to Covid-19. We definitely know how to throw a good Homecoming!!
ReplyDeleteHey Lauren! Homecoming weekend is such a fun weekend and it so nice to see old teammates that once played with me. My team also has an alumni game and it was such a fun time. There were some player that I have never meet but everyone was so nice, it was for sure an experience to remember.

I am sure they are all feeling similarly to you after this weekend. Wish I had gotten to see the softball game - I'm sure you rocked it!
