Fall Break

Over the weekend was Fall break for ONU. It was so nice to get a little time off from the crazy school schedule and to just relax for a couple of days. Not thinking about school was a little stressful, because I didn't want to miss and assignment or even have a pile of assignments to do. But I ended up being lazy and not wanting to catch up on my assignments, so now I'm a little stressed but, it was kind of worth it.

For Fall break I went home to Grove City, Ohio just 15 minutes South from Columbus. My roommate Sydney also came home with me home also. Sydney is from Michigan, so it was a little weird her coming to Columbus with me because it such a heavy Ohio State fan club, but it all worked out!

On the way home, we jammed out to some tunes, the ride took longer than normal, it felt like, but it wasn't too long. After we got back to Grove City, we had to do some shopping for the OSU vs. Maryland football game that was at OSU while we were home. We got cute face stickers and crazy, fun red heart sunglasses.

After we got our OSU gear, we then went to dinner at the amazing Texas Roadhouse. Syd and I have been craving Texas Roadhouse for so long and it was so good. We went to dinner with my brother, sister, her husband, and my dad. It was good to see my family and have so good food and laughs.

We left dinner and we both had food babies, but it was so worth it. After dinner we went to my sister's house because she was going to a trip to Florida, for a little vacation before her baby comes! So, me and Syd had this big house all to ourselves, to just relax and chill all weekend. It was super convenient that my sister was going on vacation because it was just my puppies Maxx and Barry, and my roommate watching movies all day.

After a goodnight rest in an actual bed that can fit my body, we got up and got ready to go to the game! The OSU football game started at noon, so we had to get up a little early. We had fun time and went to the game. It was such a good game and OSU won, of course! After the game we went to get a bite to eat and then chilled with the puppies for the rest of the night!

On Sunday we celebrated my brother's graduation from Miami University and for getting a big boy job. It was fun to see my extended family and to eat some yummy homemade food that my mom cooked. After the graduation party, we relaxed some more and went to bed early to get caught up on our sleep. On Monday, we slept in till about 11 a.m. and played with the puppies and went outside to catch the nice whether outside. During the evening Sydney and I went to the Circle S Farm, the place that I would always go when I was little. We went on a hayride, took some pictures, and got to pick pumpkins!

To end the weekend, we went out to dinner with my dad and brother at Olive Garden. After being stuffed we went back home, watched a couple of movies, and went to bed. We drove back to ONU in the morning and here we are in our dorm dreading going back to school.

Till next time,

Lauren

  1. That seems like such a fun weekend! I'm going to an OSU game soon and I'm so excited. I bet having your roommate home with you was a great time. Getting to just decompress from school was a much needed break. Maybe for Thanksgiving break you'll go back with your roommate to Michigan!

  2. Hi Lauren, that sounds like such a fun weekend! My best friend lives in New Jersey so most breaks she comes home with me and it is always so much fun. Just having a couple days to not worry about school is the best but I understand the stress of feeling like I am forgetting to do an assignment.

  3. Hi Lauren! Your break seems like it was so fun, and I totally relate to being so excited to show all of my ONU friends around where I grew up. It’s so much fun to integrate them into your family, who they don’t really know, but now are both such a big part of your life.

  4. Hi Lauren! Your fall break sounds similar to mine - my roommate and I went to her house in Cincinnati together and got to spend time doing stuff we enjoy (like picking pumpkins!) and not stressing about assignments. We even were able to watch a little bit of the OSU vs. MD game on TV when we were getting lunch. I'm from Baltimore, so I was rooting for the Terps. It sounds like you had an awesome and restful weekend!
