In class this week our social media platform that we will talk about is Pinterest. Pinterest is a very creative social media platform because it allows business many different options to talked to their customer audience. Every user on Pinterest has many different features such as pins, boards, and a home feed that shows all the posting for that platform. But the most interesting and playful part of Pinterest for companies to post about their products and services are the Rich Pins and I would like to deeper into that feature.
The Rich Pins on Pinterest are a little more detailed than normal pins that users have for their account. There are seven different types of Rich Pins that are available for businesses to use for their account. This feature allows many companies to expand on their product or services based on what they are trying to post about. Also, many of these different Rich Pins allows customers to know more about what the company is posting about without necessarily going to a different website, but not always.
The first of the Rich Pins is product pins, this pin allows businesses to put the price of the product they posted about. This allows customers to know right off the bat if they are willing to learn more about the product and or are willing to purchase the product.
The second Rich Pin available to customers are recipe pins. This type of pin allows businesses or people that post recipes to expand on what they are making by showing the ingredients, and the instructions. This allows users of the app to know how to make the tasty picture that was posted.
The next type of Rich Pin is article pins, this pin allows companies to expand on the product that they are trying to sell. This article pin allows business to write stories, have a headline and allows people to save the article as well.
The app pin is the next feature, and this pin allows an app to be installed without leaving the Pinterest app. This makes it very convenient for consumers to look at a product in deep on another app or website and still have their place on the Pinterest app where they found the product.
Carousel pins are very popular for most platforms and many people know of these. This is the feature that allows businesses to add more than one picture to their post to show people all aspects of the product and or service. This allows the customers to get all angles.
Just like the app pin, the buyable is very similar by allowing a purchase to be made on the Pinterest app rather than getting lead to another website to purchase the item. With this, it also lets businesses put their whole product line, so users can see all their content.
And the very last pin is shopping the look pins. This pin is very popular and helpful because it allows users to see a post and let them find where the clothing or product that the person took a picture with is located.
Pinterest is a get platform to work with especially if you are a business. There are so many different and detailed features that allows customers to get the product they want and in an easy manner.
