Pumpkin Spice Season

Ever since I was little, I have always loved the season Fall. So many activities are to be done during the fall, Football games, pumpkin picking, the amazing taste of your first pumpkin spice latte, or even the scary thrill of  walking through a haunted house. Not to mention the greatest holiday happens to be during fall, when your family can come together to stuff your faces with the delicious turkey and apple pie. Tis the season for stuffing your face and enjoying the taste of pumpkin everything.

During the Fall my family has always taken me and my family to the pumpkin patch. We would go to the Circle S Farms near our house. We would make it a whole day event. It was always so fun going with my siblings and cousins enjoying the fall weather. At the pumpkin patch we would always play in the hay playground and eats lots of pumpkin flavored foods! After we would be stuffed with apple cider and popcorn, we would take a hayride to the pumpkin patch.

The pumpkin patch was my favorite part about Fall time because I got to pick out the best pumpkin on my own! I would always pick the pumpkin with the pretty orange and the roundest one I could find. After we would pick out our pumpkins, we would all go back to my Nana's house and carve pumpkins with my family. My family and I would always have a pumpkin carving contest. My uncle and I would always team up and make the coolest and most difficult pumpkin carving.

My favorite part about pumpkin carving was always scooping out the seeds and slimy stuff from inside the pumpkin. After we cleaned

the inside of the pumpkins my uncle and I would get to carving. My Uncle Jeff was my favorite, he was and artist and loved to create and draw and paint. It was our little tradition to make the best pumpkin carving. One year we made a snoopy and it look so cool, it was our best pumpkin yet.

After my Nana picked the best pumpkin, which was always mine and my uncles, we would clean the pumpkin seeds off and bake them in the oven. Pumpkin seeds were my absolute favorite thing to eat. They were crunchy on the outside and warm on the inside.

The pumpkin patch and carving pumpkins weren't the only thing that I love about Fall. I have always loved Thanksgiving. My family has always been big. My Nana and I would make pies from scratch, all day before Thanksgiving. But, on Thanksgiving we would all come together and stuff our faces with the amazing food that my aunts and mom made. My favorite food for Thanksgiving is stuffing and my mom's homemade noodles, they are the best! After being so full, our family would play football in the backyard to run off all the food we eat. At night the cousins would always go on a scavenger hunt in retail stores and tried to be the first to find or do all the activities that we had to do.

There are so many other activities in Fall that I love like haunted house, Halloween, big bonfires and football games. Fall always reminds me of the times I am thankful for and all the fun that my family and I have, and I can't wait to keep the traditions alive for a very long time.

Until the next pumpkin spice season,

Lauren

  1. I absolutely love the fall and can't wait for it to finally arrive! It's awesome how you guys have such nice family traditions during this time. Every fall break, my mom picks me up from school and we also go to a pumpkin patch by our house and we have the best time. My favorite part of fall is the nice weather, not too hot and not too cold.

  2. I love the fall also too, especially since it means basketball season is getting closer for me to. Fall is great especially because it brings more family time and a little cooler weather. I remember going to pumpkin patch when I was younger and I loved it and I hope it is something I can do when I start my own family also!

  3. I love the fall! It is the most amazing season, being able to watch the leaves change color and the weather starting to get colder. Pumpkin patches are very fun to go too also! My family and I would go to them every year and we recreate the same photo.

  4. I am so excited for the fall! Every time me and my roommate walk outside and it’s a little chilly, we get so excited about the fall weather coming soon! I drove to Lima the other day to get a Pumpkin Latte, because they didn’t have it on campus yet, but I was craving it. BUT, I just went today on campus and they have pumpkin now!
