This week in class, our main topic from our textbook talks about Facebook. Facebook is one if not the biggest social media platform today. Older and the new generation use Facebook whether if it is for scrolling or actually posting content. But a concept that I want to dive deeper into is the actual postings of Facebook and what should be included to get the best possible outcome for your business or personal branding.
Just like any social media platform, it is very important to make sure that what your posting is getting the users attention and making them stay on your content. The first thing about posting on Facebook is to know what will best capture what you, as a business, is trying to let your followers know about.
The first thing a user sees when scroller through their Facebook feed is a visual. Most Businesses post a picture, video, or gif that is going to make their followers take a second look or read what the post has to say. The first step to having a good post that will execute what you want your customers to see is a visual of some sort. The three main visuals are a picture, video or gif relating to the topic you are talking about and or your business.
The main reason visuals are super useful and should be used when posting on Facebook, is because it catches the user's eye. Like has been said time and time before, a picture is worth a thousand words. According to Essential to Social Media Marketing, by Michelle Charello, statics say that Facebook posts that include some sort of attention grabbing visual receive 53 percent more likes, 104 percent more comments, and 84 percent more links clicked then just a post with words. I'm no business owner, but those percentages seem really good.
There is more to just visuals that are important to include when posting for a business or personal branding. Most people don't want to read 5 paragraphs explaining a picture. Most of the people on Facebook get on when they are bored or need to kill some time in-between meetings or classes, so make a short statement and make it well, to keep the focus of your targeted audiences. We also learned that hashtags are usually trends on social media. So, to keep the activity up on your Facebook channel, also use relevant hashtags, and key words that you usually type out when posting. The more consistent the better.
A lot of companies use Facebook to educate people on their growing business or their latest inventions. And the most effective way to do that is to have lots of visuals, less words are better, and keep consistent in the way you word your posts, and hopefully your numbers in all aspects will rise.
Until next time,
Lauren
Hey Lauren, I totally agree with you on having a business page that pops. When i scroll through facebook and scope out different business pages, I tend to gravitate more towards the ones that are eye catchers. I ran across multiple business pages that had pretty amusing promotions and products, but the page by itself didn't really catch my eye because of how bland the page was. I find it important for business pages to come up with creative ideas to draw attention to their page and what they want to be seen.
